Common Questions
The same handful of questions arrive in our inbox again and again. Here are the answers, gathered in one place. Missing yours? Drop us a line via the contact page.
Who writes the articles?
A small team of writers working under pen names. We are enthusiasts who enjoy testing ideas at home, not licensed professionals, and we keep that in mind whenever a topic touches health, safety, money or the law. The About page has more on how the blog runs.
Do you recommend specific products or providers?
Rarely as a ranked list. Our guides explain what to compare and which questions to ask, so you can judge options against your own needs. Some older posts mention particular companies or services; those mentions are not endorsements.
Is it safe to follow your cleaning and home tips?
We include safety notes wherever chemicals, electrics, ladders or heat are involved, but you know your home and the products in it. Read labels, test cleaners on a hidden spot, never mix cleaning products and call a professional for anything involving wiring, gas or work at height.
Why do some articles look older?
The blog has been publishing for several years. Some pieces describe situations as they were when written. We refresh popular articles when we can, and a later modified date shows that a piece has been updated.
Do you track visitors?
No. There are no analytics, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. The only thing your browser stores is your answer to the cookie banner. The Data Protection page explains the rest.
Can I suggest a topic?
Please do. Many of our household guides started as a reader's question. Tell us what you are struggling with and why existing advice did not help.
Can I republish one of your articles?
You are welcome to link to any page and quote a short passage with a credit and a link. Republishing whole articles needs our written permission, as set out in the Website Terms.
Do you accept guest posts or sponsored articles?
Occasionally, when the subject fits the blog and the piece meets our content standards. We decide case by case and turn down far more than we accept.
Do you help with streaming apps or devices?
We write about how streaming works and how to choose between services, but we cannot troubleshoot individual accounts or devices. The provider's own support pages are the fastest route for that. For general guidance, start with choosing a streaming service for your household.
Where should a new reader start?
The Where to Begin page offers a short tour through our most useful articles in each subject.
