Cookies on This Site

Cookie notices are usually long because the sites behind them collect a great deal. This one is short for the opposite reason. AHM Lifestyle Blog does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies of any kind.

What is stored, and where

The only piece of information the site keeps is your answer to the banner that appears on your first visit. When you press accept or decline, a small entry recording that choice is written to your browser's local storage. Local storage works much like a cookie but is never sent along with your requests to the server. It stays on your device, contains no name, email or identifier, and exists only so the banner does not ask the same question on every page.

What we do not use

  • No counters, heatmaps or visitor-statistics software.
  • No advertising networks or retargeting.
  • No share widgets from social networks quietly loading their own scripts.
  • No embedded videos or widgets that set third-party cookies.
  • No log-in or session cookies, because there are no accounts.

Declining the banner therefore changes nothing about how the site works for you. Every article, page and image loads exactly the same either way.

Changing your mind

To reset your choice, clear the stored site data for this website in your browser. Most browsers offer this under privacy or site settings, often with an option to remove data for a single site. On your following visit the notice pops up once more, ready for a fresh answer. Private or incognito windows forget the choice automatically when you close them.

Leaving the site

Follow a link out of an article and you arrive somewhere with its own cookie habits, often very different from ours, so it is worth glancing at their notices when you arrive.
